Does anyone know the cost of a brand-new Greenhoe valve section? I might need one for a Bach 42. I cannot find a price list for any Greenhoe components on the Internet. Thanks!

As stated in the other thread, Greenhoe is not selling valve sections, only full instruments.

You might want to look into M&W. Matt (Hornbuilder) and Mike (Inspector 42) were both at Greenhoe and could easily create something as good as any conversion Greenhoe would have done.

Brian.
M&W would be happy to make a valve section to suit a Bach 42. Price of the valve section is $2,750.00. This is listed on our web page, under "Our Products "
Is it for an existing bell, set-up for detachable valve section?
BTW Michael is no longer with M&W. He had some health issues that he felt would prevent him from continuing in the trade.

Thanks for the update, Matt. I wish him well whatever he does. And he's always welcome to stop by and comment.
Does this mean the end of M&W? Or is it now Matt & Walker? ;)

The business name will not change, as it has recognition in the market place. I am the sole owner and technician.

For what it's worth- I'm primarily a bass trombonist, but I double a fair bit on tenor. I hop back and forth between a Greenhoe-Bach bass and an M&W tenor, and they definitely feel like they belong to the same family. The workmanship on the M&W is just stellar.

Hey Matt,
Bumping this post to ask if the stated price on your site is for the valve parts alone, or installed price?
thanks

Jim,
The price quoted on the web site for a buys a complete, installed, lacquered, valve section. There may be additional costs, depending on other details of the project (is the bell being refinished? Any repair work needed? Etc)
