Greetings

Have not posed for some time. Since then I acquired a valve bone I found hanging on a bulletin board in a music teacher's studio in Palm Desert Ca. I borrowed it for a gig and it played so well, I bought it and brought it home to Vancouver Island Canada and have used it ever since. It is a bit of a mystery though, as a previous owner painted it, yes painted it with auto body paint, a lovely purple color with red hilites. You would think this would have tainted the tonality of the horn, but it has a great sound to it. I have tried everything to discern the logo on the bell, but it is only faintly legible through the paint. However I have compared it to Olds valve bones on the net and it appears to be an Olds, possibly 1960's vintage. 099127 is the serial number I can see stamped on #2 valve housing. I have asked the former owner for the history and it is quite sketchy. The flow of the tubing, character of the valve tops and knurling on the lower valve caps look like Olds. I have attempted to download a pic, but site is not permitting
