Retires from playing at 93...not bad eh ? he was a real inspiration to me back in the 1970s...I saw so many LSO concerts back then and he always put a smile on my face. To make it to 93 AND enjoy life to the full...what a man !!

Very impressive!
He got to do the things he wanted to do.
I still have that Star Wars LP and the next two after that.

I've never met him but saw him often. He had a real influence on my playing and ambitions during my formative years in the 70's and I so enjoyed listening to him at the London concerts. 93 is totally remarkable to still be playing. I wonder how many 60 year olds have considered retiring during this pandemic? All credit Frank - well done sir.
