Sorry, I have to be a bit of a proud papa somewhere. My son just found out he was accepted into a new community band by audition. A high schooler in this band is a bit of a rarity. From what I can tell it is about 40% Jacobs School Music Ed students and the rest are a combination of area band directors, Jacobs performance majors, community members who studied music in college but ended up doing something else, and a couple of Jacobs faculty members. They do college level and advance high school level rep so good opportunity for my son to be exposed to a lot of top notch repertoire with some very good musicians.

This does sound like a high level band. Let us know when you know what they are playing.

Is this the Southern Indiana Wind Ensemble?
