The half million views on that will pay for the repair.

Having made my share of equally disastrous mistakes in the past, I can only say "There, but for the Grace of God, goes mine . . . "

And I fail to see how anyone could find that at all amusing.

I've said this before, but the truly hilarious part is the ad revenue from those videos of him dropping it on the floor is the most money a person has ever made with a contrabass throughout time immemorial and will likely remain so until the sun swallows us all.

At least he has the revenue from the video. I destroyed my friends horn when I grabbed it by the tuning slide to hand it to someone else in the pit at our high school. She saw the whole thing unfold from the audience of our auditorium. I think I heard her scream. Needless to say I spent the next two days driving around LA trying to get parts or repairs done for her. She got to play my 42B and I was out the money to fix her Omega and no YouTube income for it.

I would be completely unsurprised if someone is making money on a YouTube channel where they just crush musical instruments.

Japanese girls in those weird school uniforms they have, stomping on trombones. With lots of crying. Would be huge.

But if anyone finds a channel like that, I don't want to know.

It's always interesting to see into other people's imaginations. I can't say that I'd ever come up with that kind of imagery in a hundred years, and I have some pretty messed up dreams after eating pizza.

When I was in an all-region orchestra clinic in HS, I was on a riser and accidentally pushed my chair right off the back and dropped my Bach 42. It ended up with a non-standard angle between the bell and slide, but was at least repairable. Bad feeling, though.

Just for the record, that horn was a 'wall hanger' that I got for $25 delivered off ebay. Bent the slide straight enough to play a little, taped the missing spit valve closed and pocketed my mouthpiece before proceeding with the destruction...we'd been dreaming of this sketch for some time before I found a cheap enough horn to justify it.

Oh God! Did he do that for "views" or it is tragic mistake?

It appears to be a tragic mistake.

Sounds like the time one of my horns was knocked off my chair by another member of the band. It played "crooked" after that! Explains why my sound was "off-center".
