Hi!

Can anyone here recommend a trombone teacher in the Minneapolis area? My family just moved to Plymouth and my 15 year old son would like to continue studying privately.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thank you!

I don't have a name but I suggest contacting the University of Minnesota, getting the name of a trombone faculty person and asking him or her for recommendations of someone to teach a high school student.

Congratulations on moving to Minnesota! I grew up there, it's a great place to raise a family. I know Lakeside Music Academy offer in home [url=https://www.lakesidemusicacademy.com/lessons/trombone-lessons-in-plymouth]trombone lessons in Plymouth. Good luck!

I live in the cities and could make some recommendations for colleagues in the Minneapolis area. I’m on the opposite side of the cities or else I’d offer my services.

You can email me from my profile. Send an email and I can get you some names and contact info for teachers in Minneapolis or western suburbs.

Dr. Christian Howard, most recent DMA student of Tom Ashworth at UM. Great player and teacher with a track record of success. Lives in the twin cities, so I’m sure he’d be willing to meet with you. If you send me a DM, I’ll share his contact info!

However.

The identical post just appeared on a piano forum, followed very quickly by a reply suggesting Lakeside Music Academy.

I haven't looked at Trumpet Herald or Tubenet but I have my suspicions they also have had families move to Minneapolis.

Wouldn’t have noticed if you didn’t point that out. Look at their post history, JJThompson asks for lesson teachers and Kelly858 responds with teachers and links to that teacher. Now that’s some impressive advertising

I'm not sure, Kelly has a couple other posts here that aren't advertising, he/she may have been hacked.

Here is the exchange on Piano World:

Piano Teachers in Minneapolis Area

Pianoson25 Hi Everyone!

My family just moved to Plymouth and I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a piano teacher. Maybe someone who specializes in intermediate students.

Thank you so much, any suggestions are appreciated!

Emily1555 Hi, congratulations on moving to Minnesota! I know Lakeside Music Academy offers piano lessons in Plymouth. Their teachers travel to the students' homes. Good luck!

I was a MN area trombonist till this fall…. I would reach out to Tom Ashworth at the UofM or talk to the guys at the Schmitt Trombone shop. They’ll know someone who can teach em. I suppose you want to study in person, but if you’re open to hybrid I am available and will be in MN visiting family every few months, so we could do a mix. I also know a few kiddos at my undergrad who are great teachers. But they would have an hour commute
