Took a K&M trombone stand and added some carbon fiber tube from Amazon. Link to a video description.

This is really slick. I'm thinking about doing this. I'd hoped to be able to buy the hardware as replacement parts, but K&M doesn't list any of it.

Does the K&M hardware on the lower tube just slide off the tubing?

Yep. Just slides off. The tubing has a plastic piece that keeps it from pulling off, just keep sliding it an off she goes.

Thinking about changing the legs on my Aida stand to make it a little more stable for bass trombone. It's a great stand, but slightly tippy for a bass trombone.
