Hi;) I’m searching for a compact trombone case.

I have now Marcus Bona for Tenor end alto. End it’s very good but I want that the new case will be shorter, that I can ride a bike with it;) ( the case should end not bellow my ass I hope you know what I mean<EMOJI seq="1f601" tseq="1f601">😁</EMOJI>)I though about the smallest version of MB, than about DAC, edwards hard shell case.

What you can recommend? Anybody had tried this 3cases? Or some another recommendation?

Thanks for taking time to help best regards

Even the Bonna superlight case goes below my lower back, I think. I'm not sure there are any that would actually fit trombones that would fit between bicycle seat and helmet (where I usually have the problem).

Dang, the ones from Colorado that they don't make anymore were made for bikers. Altieri. They had a picture of a dude on a motorcycle wearing one.

They've been "redesigning" them for like five years.

The real issue is not how long the bag is, but where the top of the backpack straps are located. If the top of the backpack straps could be moved away from the bell toward the center of the bag you'd be in business.

I have a cheap Chinese bag like that, but it has virtually NO protection and I'd hate to wear something like that on a bicycle -- one spill and goodbye trombone.

I have the bonna hybrid case for my case, the strap placement let’s me modify it so I can with it on my back on the subway. It’s got a hard shell protecting the bell and a shell for the slide, that may work. You could also be Martin Schippers and place your trombone in a basket on the front of the bike

My Bonna base case works fine on a bike, and the alto/tenor double case is allegedly the same length. Could have to do with the bike - my commuter has a pretty upright posture. On a more conventional road bike it is extremely uncomfortable, bordering on impossible, to carry the trombone case.

I did find a Cronkhite gig bag extremely easy to bike with, perhaps because of the strap placement being a bit better.

use one strap, and position the case like a sword, diagonally.

Depepnding on the context, if you just wanted a small case and were okay with JUST biking with an alto, the Cronkhite gig bag for altos is superb. Doesn't offer much protection in the way of a fall obviously, but it's all self contained and really compact. I understand someone makes really similar cases now... can't remember off the top of my head but I love my Cronkhite. Which is funny because I really don't like their cases for bass or tenot. I find they don't open wide enough for me to comfortably put the bell in easily but the alto bells being much smaller fit like a glove. IMO

The similar cases are made by Superfine, forum member greenbean.

The Compact is the same length as the super-light, but a little more bulky.
