Title says it all! I know it’s a rarity. Just figured I’d ask. I know about the Ferguson V. Just wanting the specific Minick V.

Email me or PM me if you have one!

Thanks,

Ben Jorge

I keep my eye out for these all the time. Ive only ever acquired 2 and they were both drastically different from each other. Very unique pieces.

Good luck!

My Minick V is a world of difference than the Ferguson and it has a significantly different shank. FWIW I prefer the ferguson. Not as aggressive in sound. But like Cubes said, they are all different. Good luck!

Just to confuse things further, my experience was the exact opposite. I played a Minick V for about 4 or 5 years (since sold), and for me it was significantly better than the Ferguson copy.

Haha! This thread is great. I guess it’s a betting game and hope to get a mouthpiece that fits my wants.

I was talking with Jeff over at Long Island Brass not too long ago. He mentioned that he didn't base his designs off of the Minick designs, but something to the effect that someone brought one in and the specs were really close. I've yet to personally try one; I'm planning on making my way out to the shop though and give them a try. Obviously, if you can get your hands on the real deal that would be awesome. But if you want something that anecodetally might also fit the bill, you may want to give him a ring or if you're in the area, swing by his shop to try one out.
