Matt,
No images attached.
This is a drastic herd thinning! Hard to believe you're letting the Recording go.

Image should be fixed...
The Recording isn't gone until someone buys it. I really do like that horn, it's a great player, but I like my 48h better. There are a bunch of other Recordings for sale out there, some for less money. I don't really want to sell it, but if someone is willing to pay for it, I'll let it go. I can't see ever taking it to a gig. I'd take my 48h first if I needed a small bore, and I'd take a 525 horn if I needed something bigger than the 48h. It's like a comfortable old shoe. I've always admired the Recordings that friends have had. And it's so much fun just sitting down and playing Real book tunes with it.
Aside from the Recording, these are horns I haven't played in a while. I have a potential project for the Wessex, but I don't know if I'll ever get around to it. And if someone is willing to buy that one, then that's fine. The 2280 is a wonderful player, but I already have a Wessex euph and a 24i which I'm in love with but needs some work. The 8h/36 just doesn't do anything for me.
I'm trying to get to a point where I really love all the horns I have. That will get me down to the 88h, 48h, and something in between, maybe an 8h and a bass bone...and definitely a couple of valve instruments - I have a tuba I'll probably keep and the Wessex Festivo, 24i, and maybe an Olds/Reynolds/Bach/Blessing flugabone.
...and I've talked to Doug Bert today, so there's a deal in the works... The 78h is going to a new home... and will be replaced by... I'll let you know when it gets here. :good:

Does the Recording have an octagonal slide or a normal slide?

Original duo-octagonal with some wear spots. It's not like a new slide, but it's definitely usable.

Also willing to take a set of older inline bass valves in trade, for example, if someone had a set of valves left over from converting an old close wrap Bach 50...

Hi! Is the euphonium still available? And it's a large mouthpiece shank, right?

Yes, the King 2280 is still for sale. A bass/large tenor mouthpiece goes in pretty far. I usually put one layer of electrical tape on a large shank mouthpiece to get it to fit. This isn't a quirk of this instrument, I think it's a quirk of the model. I've seen Youtube videos of people playing a 2280 and their mouthpiece falls out. I'm not sure what mouthpiece came with this originally. I've used SM3, SM3U, DE Euph 104J8, Bach 2G, Schilke 52e2, and various bass bone mouthpieces.

My Conn 19I (same horn with the Conn brand) came with a large shank Benge Marcellus. Sold it (the mouthpiece) off with a King 5B. Right now I'm using a 1 1/2 G sized mouthpiece with it.

2280 sold. The only one left is the Wessex Super Tenor. If no one takes it, it becomes a project horn.
