I really like my ā€˜66 Olds Super and am thinking about having it restored. Before I send it out, I’d like to see if there are any very nice Supers out there for sale. Anyone?

I still have my High School horn - a '60s Super - had it restored a couple years ago and happy with the results. Had the 'Slide Dr' work on the slide which improved the playability of the horn. Looks a lot nicer and a good player.

A local retailer had a nice restored Super at the time for about $900.

Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Yes, that's mine. It's a '40s model. The ToneRing is brass (I assume) rather than nickle. Have you seen those before?

I've got a '50s Super with the normal nickle ToneRing too, but I'm planning to keep that one, it just got back from the SlideDr and it's slide is super! I guess I'd sell it for $1k, I've got 7 small bore horns, who needs more than 3? 8-) šŸ˜‰ I'm dithering between this and my 32H as my main jazz horn.

The '40s Super slide isn't really super :? It works fine, but one of the inner tubes was replaced before I got it. I think a trip to the SlideDr would do it right. Matt, what do you think about that slide? I do want to sell this one, but I haven't put it up yet because I don't know how much I want for it. Also, I've only bought horns, never sold one. Doesn't seem right. (I'd also like to sell a 30H, a 4H and a tis Buescher but can't bring myself to put a price on any of them.)

Let me know if you're interested in either of them. I know $1k is steep for the '50s one, but we could come up with a reasonable price on the '40s if you like the idea of a brass Tone Ring.
