Flugabone? (Only if it’s a King)
Fluegelbone? Sounds Classy!
Marching Trombone? According to Blessing
Compact Valve Trombone? That sounds right to me!
SOLD
Blessing M200
$550 including shipping within US
I bought new, and I’ve always used this like any valve trombone for jazz, and as a travel horn. And it’s been useful for recording to lay down parts with a little valve vibe. And certainly nice as a “couch horn”, where a slide horn is a bit awkward. Some have used these as a bass trumpet.
What people say they like about the Blessing and its brethren (Olds, Bach Mercedes):
*Blessing with its .515 bore may feel more open than the King at .500
*Standard small tenor mutes fit quite well
*And some say the Blessing is bit better metal than the Mercedes
And I’m the one original owner!
I had the horn professionally cleaned this spring, and not used much since.
new King valve ‘bone springs (better than the original),
new felts and corks and valve alignment which made a real difference. Valves are good.
and a bit of de-dent. All slides move.
The work took the lacquer off the bow in the third tuning slide, and one small ding remains. I think the repair person did a little spray lacquer to touch up. Pics show patches of hand wear but there were not dents there, maybe a couple of small pings.
When I first bought it, I removed the lyre holder which is right where I put my hands. But I still have it, and can include!
Sorry, no case. The hinge went so I used a euph gig bag, a bit oversized. If interested, it’s a black leather WoodWind and Brasswind, and I could make a deal on that.

Flugabone mania today! We got another one!
I love seeing these for sale, and I love my olds. These flugabones sure are becoming more and more popular. It's great to see!

Yeah, I think people are recognizing that though not the same as a vintage 3b or Conn valve, reasonably close to standard valve trombone, but compact is convenient for travel, home recording, playing on a band stand. More euphers playing jazz, more tubists accustomed to small mouthpieces. Some YouTubers showing the possibilities and utility. I’m not saying Brookmeyer would record on one, but maybe own one.
My best valve bone was a Getzen but like .500 bore or less was a little tight.

Looks to be in great shape. I'm happy with my King, but I've always had a soft spot for the Blessings. I played the bigger sibling to this (Blessing marching baritone, which looks very similar) in high school and liked it so much I tried to buy it from my school when I graduated!
