Pat Martino passes on Nov 1, 2021.
A truly remarkable story. Following 1980 brain surgery that left him with significant memory deficits, Pat re-learned how to play in part by listening to his own recordings.

My first Pat Martino album was First Light, a reissue of Joyous Lake and Starbright. It's a fusion album. I didn't even know he was a bebop player until way later. One of those weird things where sometimes you come into someone from a totally different angle than they're known for.
