Looks like an average Chinese horn to me.

I'd be curious to see the focus groups where they test out these names.

I wonder what "Cannonball" beat out.

It refers to the famous saxophonist-

The rest of the Cannonball lineup is saxophones.

I didn't know they had expanded their product lines past their Saxophones. I worked on a lot of their saxophones. Very good quality. If their bones follow suit they might be pretty good.

OK. I was presuming the famous Burt Reynolds film.

They used viola players as a focus group for the name.

I do see some trumpet players using them, or at least see them for sale. They look like their price point is similar to Carolbrass. Curious if they're a direct stencil from which company and what makes them distinctive.

I had some students who bought Cannonball alto saxophones. They sounded fine and the students seemed to like them. I also know that they made trumpets, but have never played one or saw anyone with them. This bass trombone could be a stencil, but it doesn't look like the double bass Jinbau makes. It doesn't even look like the basses John Packer imports. The website has a lot of information about the company. Curious to hear what experience members have had with them.

I have played few jazz combo gigs with their student small bore. Amazing horn with great sound and perfect intonation. I don't know where they're manufactured, but it was nothing like a chinese trombone, so I think this bass can be good, too, especially for the price.

IIRC, all of their instruments are manufactured in Taiwan. Not stencils of any kind, from what I understand. Their saxes are very solid, don't sure about their brass offerings.
