Back in July, I picked up a very nice 6h from another forum member. At the time, I was awaiting the completion of my Butler JJ build, and I needed something nicer to play on than the pbone I grabbed to test the waters as a come-back player. If I'm being honest, I also wanted to hedge a bit, as I wasn't 100% sure that the carbon fiber bell would really speak to me, and I knew that the 6h bell was a good match for the slide tenons in the Butler small bore horns.

A few months later, my Butler JJ model arrived. I knew immediately that the carbon bell wasn't going to be an issue, but I decided to hang onto the 6h for a few weeks, just in case my initial impression changed. It hasn't. I know that if I keep this excellent 6h, it will stay on the shelf while my Butler gets all the face time - which would be an absolute shame. This is a horn that deserves to be played.

In terms of condition, here is the description I was given when I bought it, which still holds true:

This horn is not quite "minty" but is in great shape. No dents, or even any real dings. Some normal wear on gooseneck, handgrips, and around mpc receiver. Minimal wear on inner slide stockings. A tiny bit of lacquer discoloration and some small spots on bell section. Slide action is smooth and quiet, well aligned, could probably use a cleaning. No counterweight. Will ship in a Protec case in excellent condition, including strap and name tag (in the side pocket).

The only minor change to the original description is that I added a counterweight to replace the missing original, and I will include that with this sale. For the relatively short time I've had this, it hasn't left my studio.

Price lowered from $1,200 to $1,100. Let me know what you think is fair.

Let me know if you'd like additional pics of a particular area.

I would also consider trades. Potentially interesting:

* Alto trombone

* Hoelle tuning slides (Shires)

* Brass Ark leadpipes

* DE XT gear
