King 2B Slide + Valve Trombone H.N.White era.

Bell section:

Excellent condition, very straight and has no dents. The flare and the curved brace date back to around 1940 (S/N: 227xxx), the rest of the bell section and the tuning slide are most likely from the mid to late 60’s judging by the length of the tuning crook and color of the lacquer these parts used to have on them before I stripped the horn. The bell flare is a bit on the heavier side so it puts out a nice big fat resonating sound.

Slide:

This slide is from 1952 (S/N: 314xxx) and is in decent shape. Small dent on the crook, no dents on the tubes, the inners are a bit worn and have some chrome loss, still works surprisingly well with Trombotine, could use a pro set up but it’s absolutely playable as is (keep in mind, I’m extremely picky when it comes to slide action). The spit valve is a bit weird, someone bent it upwards for some reason, no idea why but it functions just fine.

Valve section:

late H.N.White from around 1964 (S/N: 395xxx). No dents anywhere, pistons 2 and mostly 3 have some nickel loss but despite that the valves are quiet, smooth and have good compression. All slides move freely so it’s in excellent playing condition and ready for some bebop! This valve section is a fantastic player and one of the best valve trombones I’ve ever played on.

The horn is almost entirely unlacquered except for a couple of small spots on the valve section and the slide where I wasn’t able to remove the lacquer (see photos). I’ll make sure it’s nice and shiny before shipping.

I’m also willing to part it out.
