For sale I have a screw bell King 3B. The serial number is 864xxx, which according to what I’ve found puts it as from 1981. This is a great horn that has served me well since July, but I recently upgraded to a Silversonic and I don’t need 2 3Bs.

The previous owner had it converted to a screw bell which makes it more compact, as well as having this rubbery material put on the tuning slide. I haven’t noticed a difference from the stuff on the slide, and neither has anyone else that I’ve let play this horn. When I got the horn in July I had my repair tech clean it so it’s in great shape, as well as install a Saturn water key. I will also include the Neotech trombone grip.

Price for the horn is $1500 with a coffin case, but for an additional $150 I’ll include the screw bell case that I have only had since around August. I am located in Louisville, Kentucky, but if shipping is required we could work it out.

Just curious, what exactly is the rubbery material on the tuning slide? Is that like a tool dip or what?

I'm honestly not 100% sure since I was not the person that put it on and I am pretty sure it was not done by the person I got it from. It's like a flex seal like material. It feels interesting and I haven't really noticed a difference because of it.
