Hi everyone,

For anyone who is interested, KDFC is currently streaming the premiere of my Concerto for Trombone. The recording is with the San Francisco Symphony conducted by Ludovic Morlot. There’s a link below to the stream.

Hope you enjoy!

I hope people will take the time to listen to this performance...to take the time to truly listen. In addition to it being one of the most enjoyable new trombone concertos, Tim's performance is incredible. His effortless execution of fiendishly difficult passages and pure, singing sound is breathtaking, inspiring and humbling.

Bravo, Tim!

Anyone have issues streaming this performance? The first recording ends after the Ravel, and the second recording is the Copeland. Is it after the Copeland?

I found the same. Only the two pieces on either side of the concerto are available to stream.

OK. So I'm not crazy. Same thing happened to me. I thought I just quit on the first part too soon after the Ravel.

Same - it even cuts out early on the last chord of the Ravel. Too bad - I'd love to hear the concerto!

Hi everyone,

I double checked this morning and was able to listen through the Ravel to the concerto. There wasn’t an issue. Maybe KDFC fixed the issue? Hope this issue doesn’t happen anymore.

FWIW, I was able to listen to everything on my phone.

(worked fine on my phone)

What a wonderful new piece of music. I thoroughly enjoyed listening, and I'd be shocked if it didn't become a standard. The orchestration was superb. The playing and composition were both fantastic!!!

There was one moment (first movement somewhere?) where the whole orchestra drops out except for the solo trombone sustaining one note, with a ff triangle roll. What a sound!!

Congratulations on the piece and the premier (and the kiddo!).

Congratulations Tim! What a nice piece and that is just stellar playing! I hope you get lots of opportunities to repeat it elsewhere! Nice addition to the repertoire.

Bravo!
