WTB: student trombone with f attachment

The kid has played beginner euphonium, marching baritone, beginner trombone (Yamaha YSL 200AD). He is looking for a step up from the 200AD with an F attachment. The older brother advising us is arguing against investing in something new given that he is a freshman and is not 100% settled on trombone.
So I am looking for something that satisfies the kid but in the $500-1000 price range. The current season is jazz and ensemble. I don't think he will march with this (they normally stick with baritone for marching).
Suggestions or leads are welcome. I have been looking around reverb, FB, this forum, and I have a different one picked out every time I dig around...

Would something like a King 607/608 with F attachment work?

Yamaha 356, Olds Superstar S-20, Reynolds Medalist with F (I really like this one -- built like a tank), Holton TR-680
There was a Kanstul similar to the Yamaha 356. Don't know the number.
Lots of them out there.

At the moment, some options that are for sale here or reverb that I am looking at based on research and what afugate and BGuttman have said...
Selmer Largo with f attachment, good condition, $500.
Bach Mercedes intermediate with f, good, $500.
King 607f, very good, $1000.
Holton TR680, very good, $1000.
Of course I would prefer to get something local so the kid can try it, but there isn't much in town where we live.

I have seen that mentioned by others. I guess. There is this on reverb <LINK_TEXT text="https://reverb.com/item/46937275-king-6 ... -w-f-rotor">https://reverb.com/item/46937275-king-607f-legend-series-step-up-tenor-trombone-w-f-rotor</LINK_TEXT>
which seems a bit suspicious (supposedly new for half price of new).

Out of those, reverb currently has the following -

It would be nice to be able to have him play whatever we buy, but there isn't a ton available in town here. I will see what we can do though.

I have a Benge 190F in silverplate for sale, $800 incl. shipping. The slide works great, but the slide receiver is bent so the slide passes about 5/8" from the bell rim. It takes some getting used to, but it plays great. It's a solid, production pro level instrument. PM me and we can continue the conversation vie email...

I have 2, one is advertised here on the forum. A Conn 50H in good, ready to play condition, the only issue is the darn slide lock. .522 bore, 8 1/2" bell. Similar specs to the Yamaha 356. Located in NJ.

I have a Yamaha YSL-646 in very good playing condition, but not the prettiest horn, that's available for $400 shipped. Medium bore (0.525") f-attachment.

Hey there, I have a nice Yamaha YSL-643 available. Just sent it in for a cleaning, slide, and get the minor dents removed. If interested, message me. Thanks!

Thank you everyone for the replies. There are so many options to choose from, I am going to get him playing on whatever he can over the next week or so to get more data to narrow it down. And I'll post here again for the record with whatever we end up going with.

Closing the loop on this... I ended up going with an early 80s Bach 42b that was close enough to try out before purchasing. One of the kid's bandmates uses a similar one, and it felt good when the kid tried it out. So there it is. Thanks again to the recommendations here.
