1970's 3B bell section in brass.

"3-B Concert" in ropey engraving.

Other than a few minor dings, it looks and plays great!

I would consider trading this for a Conn bell section, preferably 6H but possibly a 48H, or 10H.

Straight 3B are more scarce

In general, they seem to be the loudest/punchiest 3Bs. Mine (from DJ) is ridiculous!

So, the loopy engraving affects the playing characteristics, this is very interesting.

I have a 1971 with loopy engraving and a 1974 without. They both play the same..

But in general I prefer the 70ies King 3B, too, without playing salsa. They just sound nice...weight of the bell?

Maybe it is time for a bell weight chart?

It is interesting to see the difference in weight over the decades...
