No, there are 1.5Gs out there from the Mt. Vernon era although they are quite rare.

Yes, well aware that there are MV 1.5Gs out there. One is in my case!

I believe the 1 and 1-1/4 Gs were later additions to match the Schilke 59 and 60.

If you find one ask about whether it was modified and inspect carefully to evidence of modification. I bought one on eBay more than 10 years ago, and found out it was modified. I didn't question whether it had been modified and wouldn't have known to look closer. A few years later it was pointed out to me the specifications didn't match a MV 1.5G. Buyer beware.

Is this 1 1/2G rare enough ? No "Mount Vernon" markings, no "Corporation" markings, no "New York" markings ! This was made by Vincent Bach, himself, for a personal friend, Edward Gummell, former bass trombonist of The National Symphony Orchestra. Ed gave this, along with several other "custom" Bach mouthpieces made by the "boss" himself to me when I assumed his role in the NSO in 1967. A generous and thoughtful man, that Ed Gummell.

Interesting, that looks very similar to the "shallow stamp no corp" era of 2004-2007.
