I am allergic to most of the valve oils. I have been using Slide o Mix two in one for my rotary valves since it has been out on 8 valves in my flock.

Seems to stay clean. No stains on my shirt. Lasts longer. Smooth feel.

An FYI for others.

I tried some several years ago. Still bothered the asthma. This stuff make the valve move smooth like a nice slide. I think it is combo of the Teflon and silicone.

The other think I do is put a gob of vaseline on the metal sockets, then hit it with a lighter just enough to melt in the lube. My old Bach bass still has a quiet old style linkage.

I, too, am bothered by asthma, but Ultra Pure and Hetman’s haven’t bothered me… yet…

I tried BERP bio-oil a few years ago. It did not work well on the Kanstul valves I had at the time, and I did not like the smell. It looks like they have changed their formula, so I might try it again.
