After years of hesitation, it's time to sell my modern trombone. It breaks my heart to see it go as it is a fantastic horn and I've had it for half of my life, but I have barely played it in the last 6 years and it deserves to be played.
So here's the offer:
Bach 42 from the early 90's
Asking price: 2500 or best offer
-Lightweight nickel silver slide
-Hagmann valve and wrap installed in 2011. Unlike the stock 42A, this has an E-pull as both legs are full length.
-Also unlike the stock 42A, this one has an adjustable nickel silver thumb lever.
-Slide crook is a M/K drawing bronze crook equipped with a Saturn waterkey
-Slide is very good, every person who has ever tried this horn has complimented the slide for being very smooth and fast.
-Bell section unlacquered with a nice patina.
-Small spot of plating wear at the end of a stocking but doesn't affect the action.
-Slide is cosmetically not super pretty. Might want to have the lacquer stripped altogether.
It's a very good Bach 42, with a bells that rings a lot. More open than average, not at all stuffy, very free-blowing but with nice slotting. A bit brighter that the average 42, in a good way (very lively and colourful).

The M/K bronze crook with Saturn water key

Finish on the outer slide isn't ugly and you don't really notice it unless you're very close, but it's definitely not great. Not that it changes anything in the way it plays of course.

Beautiful! I hope it finds a good home with someone who will play it. If I hadn’t spent money on mods for my existing Bachs, I would really be tempted!

Additional precision: it just came out of the shop for cleaning and checking the valve action and slide alignment (not that there was any problem with it), so it's all ready to go!
