Gorgeous sound out of the 9 inch red brass bell and nickel silver slide. Easy to color the sound. I bought it with the idea of updating it, and to that end had the slide widened, but never got around to the rest of the instrument.

Serial # 527###. Slide is 7/10. Note there are dents in both tuning slides. Stockings have abit of plating loss, I tried to picture it. Not a looker but sounds great. Case is functional. $650 plus shipping.

Hey norbie2018,

What crook did you have installed on the slide? Thanks.

Wide .547 in yellow brass.

Thanks,

Do you know what specific brand of wide crook was installed? The inside diameter of .547 bore slide crooks varies greatly between brands and models. BrassArk offers a wide crook with a .554 bore. The standard Bach 42 slide crook is a .600 bore. I just rebuilt a Getzen outer slide for a .547 bore horn and the inside diameter of that crook was .583. There are several other sizes available as well. If you know the brand of the crook, it could narrow it down to a specific size.

Sorry for persisting about the crook. I have actually wanted to buy a Holton 150 for some time so I could tinker with it. I just want to know exactly what all the components are. Thanks!

No worries. M&W did the work using their standard .547 (not bass) end crook in yellow brass. Not certain of the measurements beyond that.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
