For sale is a mid to late 90’s Conn 88H that I restored. I bought it on a vacation in Austin, TX and got it back to playing shape. The only reason I am selling is I came across and Olds Opera that will become my main large bore and do not need two horns. This is a sweet player and looks beautiful now as well after stripping the lacquer and polishing it up. These red bells, over time, can develop some of the coolest patinas if you dig that kind of stuff.
Very good condition overall. I had most of the dents removed and the tuning slide is brand new. See photos for the small dings that around the horn, they do not affect the playing in any way. The slide is pretty good, could be excellent with an alignment by a tech. The valve is open with no leaks and the horn was recently ultrasonic cleaned while in the shop. The inners have no plating wear as seen in the photos. I absolutely love the resonance of this horn and really hate to see it go.
As mentioned, the lacquer has been stripped completely. I had a friend help me use a Dremel and buffing compound to get some of the stubborn bits out and as you can see in the photos, there are some tiny spots here and there in crevices where my tool would not reach well.
S/N 5716XXX dates the horn to either late 90’s or very early 2000’s.
Asking $1150 shipped, CONUS. No case, so the horn will be packed very safely in a mountain of protective shipping products. Buyer pays fees on PayPal/Venmo.
Please email me with questions or offers. Thank you!
