I had one of these. They work fine for small bore straight trombones, but they are too wobbly if you put anything heavier on them.

I've given up on mine (from 1960s, I think), and use more modern, sturdier trombone stands. [Want to buy it?]

Definitely worthwhile to spend a few bucks to better protect your valuable trombones of any size!

I've got one too. Someone sent it to me packed with an old horn I brought. I use it as an overflow for small horns only, and only in a corner against the wall.

It does have one advantage over stands with a bell dome. It will allow the inside of the bell to dry and the felt pads will not leave marks. If it had a wider stand and stiffer shaft where the bell mounts it would be a very nice stand.

I use a Hamilton Bone Sock on my modern "domed" stands - sock absorbs moisture, and no marks on the bell.

And I usually clean, dry, and return my trombone back to its case at the end of the day.

I know this is really off-topic but what case is that on the left, the black one with the latches, it seems really similar to the shires Marco magi cases but with actual latches
