Which bells fit 2B (besides actual 2B bells)? I have a project in mind, and don't want to sacrifice my excellent Peppy 2B bell, which I might want to sell.
2B/Jiggs/old single bore Liberty/605/older tempo with 7.5” nickel [plated] bell are compatible

3B/2B+/606/Benge 170/Tempo with 8” nickel bell are compatible

3B+/607/608/609/Benge 160,175 are compatible

4B/5B/Benge 165 and 190 are compatible

Different tenons between each series, so some mods would have to be done to put a 3B slide on a 3B+ bell section
As I am quoted above, the 2B is compatible with the Jiggs, single bore liberty (from the 1930s),the student 605, and the small bell tempo. They all share the same slide bell tenons.

If you read it they way I intended, I am not suggesting that the 3B, 3B+, and 4B are all compatible with the 2B. Each grouping is compatible within the group, but not across the groups.

In other words, there are 4 different:"families" of King/Benge tenons, so you can interchange bells and slides within each family ... but not from one family to another.

So if I had a Benge 170 bell, I could use a King 3B slide with it.

It would be good if there was a .565 slide for a King 5B

A bass bore slide might work on the King Symphony (1480/1485/early 5B); it has .562"-ish attachment tubing (though the valve is quite small), OTOH, the later version (2105) has .547" attachment tubing, so would likely be something of a mismatch for a full size bass slide.

They made the change around 1977 or so.

Another bell that will fit a 2B slide: King Cleveland Superior. Got an old one of these a few months back. Was probably the heaviest non-trigger bell I've ever held. _So_ thick. But it had some cool braces :-)

I'm tempted to separate Klimchak's answer and stick it due to the number of times over the years I've had the same question.

Sounds like a good idea. Just make it a title more verbose so it’s easier to grasp on first reading.

I picked up a King Cleveland Superior cheap. I tried it on my 2B Jiggs slide. Perfect match. I like the bell better than my early 1950s(?) 2B bell. I think it's due to the larger throat.
