I'm selling my gold brass bell made by the late Larry Minick. 9 1/2" bell diameter, soldered rim, flare only no hardware. No dings. This was one of the last bells Larry made in his shop in Cambria and was purchased by Jim Bermann but was never used by him. I purchased the bell from Jim a few years back and mounted Bach convertible hardware on it and used it with my 50B and 50B2O valve sections for the past 7 years. Hardware has been removed. Buyer will need to have hardware of their choosing mounted by a brass tech.
Near as I can tell the gauge is 22. Polished, unlaquered gold brass. This bell has never been laquered.
It has a sweet tone! Since I've gone to a Butler carbon fiber bell I don't need the Minick. $800 plus shipping and insurance. Photos available upon request.

Not sure what you mean. Dimensions, throat, material, tone...? I've played 62Hs and Bach 50s for the last 40+ years and the Minick bells were all hand made and all play differently. It's not really comparable to Bach or Conn bells so it would be impossible to say it's like one or the other. Plus, it's gold brass which is not typical either. Gold brass tends to play in between yellow and red brass generally but the old 62H bells didn't have a soldered rim, which my Minick does. That also changes the tone and response characteristics.

Sorry. I meant dimensions. The soldered rim alone makes it less Conn like. Thanks for your response.

I assume it’s a 2 piece bell? I’m interested, I’ll think about it

I thought minick bells were all one piece. My beryllium bell is one piece, the seam is very visible

You might be correct about that. I was straining to see the seam(s) myself and I couldn't be sure. The proud new owner is having it mounted on a Minick valve section and he is stoked regardless whether it's one piece or two.
