I am selling a Benge 190c (190f with a convertible f section. This one is in really good condition, having normal wear in the lacquer (on braces, hand grips, etc) and a few very minor dings. I would rate this horn in excellent condition if the lacquer was perfect.
The trigger is fast and smooth.
Hand slide is a 9.0/10.
The tuning slide works perfectly.
This trombone produces a gorgeous tone.
The serial number comes with the prefix "36" which indicates that it was made in 1986.
Included:
*Benge 190c symphonic tenor trombone *Original case with working hardware
*F attachment section
*Straight pipe
*Two additional lead pipes
*Gorgeous sound (proper use of air required)
Asking $1100 plus shipping

Note: Benge was made by King in Eastlake. Never made in Texas or by Conn. These are great horns. Very underappreciated.

ditto $10,000? - I could buy two brand new Edwards for that and still have change - did we put an extra 0 in by mistake?

I've edited the post to eliminate the confusion I caused. The idea was to not underprice the instrument (I've done that before and it is frustrating) and to accept the best reasonable offer. It was never intended to sell for $10,000. I have seen this done in many different publications' classified ads before. I didn't realize it would cause such confusion. Apologies

Wow. That's a lot of horn the price, someone's going to get a great horn for a bargain.

This horn is also listed on Marketplace at $1300.00 under the name David Cooke.
Yet my correspondence on Trombone chat is with James Thomas at a different price.
What's up. Something is not adding up from my perspective. David or James need to clarify.

I am David Cooke and thr Benge 190c is mine. I havr no idea who James Thomas is. Where do you see his name associated with this trombone? I've got colleagues who can vouch that the horn is mine. It was gifted to me by the mother of my best friend who was murdered in NYC in 2003.

I don’t know David Cooke personally, but I do know who the former owner was, the tragedy surrounding his death and in fact, I had played on various gigs in NYC with him playing this horn if that helps with the credibility of the seller.

Chromebone...
You knew and worked with SK? I'd love to chat sometime!
The anniversary of his death is in about a month. I hate May.
