Here is a terrific Bach 50B single-valve bass trombone. I am guessing it is from the 1980-1990s. The enormous brownie case makes me think of the 80's. But I don't know if the case is original...
Anyway, yellow brass one-piece 9.5" bell, regular rotor, and open-wrap F-attachment. I will call its condition "near-mint." :good: The slide works beautifully and the horn plays beautifully. Valve and slides all work perfectly. It clearly has not been used much. There is a very faint wrinkle mark on the bell flare from a removed crease and there is a small mark on the bell throat near the bell brace - probably from a removed dent.
**Please notice that in the 3rd photo, there is a hand rest attached to the slide receiver. Also notice that in the next photo, it is gone. That is what the horn will look like if you buy it.
These go new for $4,259. This one is $2,550 + shipping

For fun on the case, they changed the latches on those so that the middle one is the same as the outer two some time in the early '90s. Previously they had a different, non-locking center latch. My '94 110XXX s/n came in a case with the three latches as shown.
Cheers,
Andy

Hey, I just realized that I did the research when I bought this horn. Serial # is 120xxx, dating it to 1995, I think.
Andy, I have two other Bach cases that have the other style middle latch and they came with 1980s Bachs. So, these numbers line up well. I think this 3-latch version might have been expanded in size. This one is gigantic! I think Bach had band rooms in mind when they designed these.
I have never been crazy about these Brownie cases, but at least they are not as bad and the later zippered version. I would just as soon carry the horn in my hands than use that zippered case!
(I know that many players don't care much about cases. But I have always been kinda "into" case.)
