I am really happy with these valves, I bought them from a prominent forum member last year and had the triggers modified by Osmun so they are split. I don’t really want to give up the set, but I’m not playing them as much as I wanted to and I’m really interested in a standard rotor or tru-bore Shires valve set. So I’m testing the waters and would be happy to keep them if there isn’t any interest.
These are dependent F/D valves that are setup for Shires large bore tenor components. They play and sound great and the under thumb style brace makes holding the additional weight of the valves comfortable. It’s really fun to play things like Bach Cello suites with them.
I have lots of info on the construction and donor components I can share over email or PM. Contact me if you want to discuss.

It has stock shires receiver, bell braces, flanges, & tuning slide receiver. The first rotor is a Bach 36/42 rotor and the second rotor is from a German trombone. The tubing for the F side is from the original Bach 42, and the tubing for the D side is from a Conn 88H. The neckpipe is a Schilke piece. The linkage paddles are from a Duo Gravis.
The forum member I bought it from told me that Ted Woehr at Volkweins in Pittsburgh did the work.
I had the paddles worked on to split the triggers and had the dependent valve switched from string to mechanical linkage. I left the main F trigger alone.

I can out myself as the originator of this section. :hi: It’s a great playing valve section. Worked beautifully on my 2RVET7. Very well balanced too because of the 2nd valve going as far back as it does. Im focused on smaller horns now or else I’d probably be buying it back.

Thanks Matt, I’ve enjoyed it very much, just have a bass on my wishlist and could use the funds.
