For sale is a customized Corporation-era Bach 42B with an Edwards TBC-N slide, and a brand-new Protec case.
The bell section was rebuilt by Eric Edwards to feature edge bracing and an Instrument Innovations valve, which blows incredibly freely and is definitely one of the best rotary valves I've owned. The bell itself is delacquered (the rest of the section is lacquered in great condition), and it definitely shows scarring from repairs. However, it sounds incredible, with that classic Bach sound. I would certainly keep it if I didn't prefer axial valves so much.
The slide is a used Edwards TBC-N, with a nickel bass crook and a #2L brass leadpipe. It has lacquer wear, but the action is 9/10 when oiled. I play-tested this horn for several of my colleagues using this slide and the 1980s slide that I originally received with the horn, and they unanimously preferred how it sounded with the Edwards slide. Please note that this slide does not have a slide lock.
Asking $2,200 plus shipping from the Seattle area. Offers will be considered, and although I'd like to sell it outright, I may consider a trade. Feel free to contact me at jazztrombonesm @ gmail . com if you'd like to make an offer.
Thanks for looking!
