I recently bought an Olds Ambassador and from what I've heard it's a sturdy horn and people use it in the jazz setting. Is the trombone worth keeping?

If it's in good condition it would be worth keeping. They make great horns for Marching Band and for gigs where you are concerned about the safety of a more expensive instrument.

Solid performer. For kicks I took mine to a community band practice and it was perfectly useable. I have to confess I missed my trigger but functionally it did what I needed. I especially like the dual bore slide and the art deco look with the counterweight attached to the inside radius of the tuning slide. In a big band I play in we've talked about playing all small bore trombones with the exception of the fourth book.

I hear good things about them, but I've had two and both were incredibly stuffy.
