Early Fullerton horn, although the nickel 'kranz' (ring around bell) indicates it is a Los Angeles horn--leftover parts when made, I suspect! Fluted slide is 9/10: if held at a 45˚ angle, it moves on its own. A small amount of corrosion on the stockings--I have been known to use Wright's to polish them when needed. Original case with music holder for marching band (YIKES!: never used), older Olds 12C( star) mpc. There is a very small dent (less than 2 mm) on the bend of the tuning slide--otherwise dent free. I would keep this horn if I were not acquiring a flugelhorn (German band needs flugel more than another trombone), not to mention my wife will send me away if I don't cull the herd a bit. $650 + shipping, local delivery within 50 miles of Cleveland, Ohio preferred. Will entertain offers if my pricing is completely out of line! Pictures available if desired and when I figure out how to attach them to my posts! Jim

I believe you need two approved posts to attach pictures. You can get your second approved post by putting something that is not robotic in the "I can's see my posts" thread in Comments and Suggestions.

Hello! My mom and I are going through my dad's things and found what I believe is a 1956 Super Olds Trombone Serial #1855534. How can I find out more about it and get an idea of it's value. Thanks!

Value depends strongly on the condition of a 66-year-old instrument.
I'd guess anywhere from ~$250 (worn)-$1,000+ (minty with nice case).
MontessoriJim's price ($650) seems reasonable for his Super.
Basic facts (from <LINK_TEXT text="http://www.oocities.org/yuenli_low/trom ... specs.html">http://www.oocities.org/yuenli_low/trombone/discontspecs.html</LINK_TEXT>):
Super series
Professional instruments. Pure bronze bell (very heavy) with tone control ring, rest of instrument nickel silver. Bell design results in a very dark and centred tone.
Model: Super S15
Bore (in.): .485/.500
Bell (in.): 7.5
Jazz horn. Dual bore, inner slide tubes[color=#0040FF]fluted. [color=#804040][Actually duo-octagonal, not "fluted"]
Pure bronze bell with tone ring, rest of instrument nickel silver.
