King 2B pro jazz trombone. Great horn for lead playing in a jazz band or in a Dixieland band. It has a small bore and light fast slide. The 410xxx serial number puts it from about 1965; the bell has the great looking engraving from that era. It has small dents in the tuning slide and bell, some of the lacquer is scratched and/or worn, and there is an area on the bell where it looks like somebody stored a mute in the case and it rubbed the lacquer. The tuning slide moves fine. The main slide has a little wear beginning to show on one slide stocking as seen in the photo. The leadpipe and the slide tenon both have nicks in them (see photo) but they don't affect the playing. The slide moves well when lubed, but would be even better with an alignment from a good slide tech. It comes in a King case from the same era that was probably from a Tempo. Asking $700. Might be interested in trading for a euphonium. Will ship on your dime from 44133.

Greg, not a Ropey era King. The Ropey engraving started in 1970-ish. Below is one from 1972. I would think of yours as "late NH White" - when they were making great horns!

When you say "a euphonium," do you necessarily mean a King euphonium?...

A King. I just took it in trade and I don't need. I already own TWO of them!

Other 2Bs have sold since I posted mine. Am I too high on the price? Am I too honest about the condition? I would rather be honest and describe a horn warts and all as opposed to a buyer finding it not what was expected.

There is nothing wrong with your price...I have no idea why nobody has picked it up (I would, but I already have two King 2Bs). I absolutely love a king 2b...somebody buy this horn! =D
