Must have missed your PM; mind hitting me up again if your friend is still interested?

A 3bf is a good all-rounder horn; definitely leans on the smaller end for serious concert/orchestra work, though. This one has a slightly (100g) heavier bell than others I've tried, but being delacquered, it'll be a little brighter than a lacquered version.

This is most definitely _not_ a marching horn; the F attachment knuckles will not stand that amount of torque.

If this is for a high-schooler as their first F horn, I would suggest a King 607 or 608: there is actually one in Indianapolis on Reverb that would be perfect for an HS student, and it's less than $500.

Oh no! How many of those have been patched, sleeved, or otherwise reinforced?

You can march a 3B-F (or any other F-attachment trombone) if you are careful. Problem is a lot of High Schoolers are not careful. Or they do stupid stunts like "suicides". Or they get too close to the flag or rifle twirlers. High school marching band is a dangerous place even for straight horns. That's why the best ones for that duty are Bundys -- at least you don't cry when it gets crunched.

Or a 105 degree day on Astro Turf. The player has no control over any evolving situation or the last 10 seconds before another kid passes out.

I expect that Aidan's marching with the Disneyland Band is rather different than the antics on a high school football field!

This is a first F horn for an incoming high schooler. I will check Reverb (1st pass didn't find the one you referred to - perhaps it's been claimed already).

Found it. Listing title says Indianapolis, but it's actually listed by Sam Ash in NY.

That's the one. Sam Ash has an Indianapolis store, IIRC.

I’ve played the 607F at the sam ash in Indianapolis. It’s good enough, however there are some rotor knuckle creases present that may not have made it to the pictures.

They have had a few decent and hard to find horns over the past few years that have had some rotor knuckle creases. They had a Bach 45, Olds Opera, MV36B, all with the same injury.
