Looking to purchase a Kanstul 1662i Bass Trombone at a reasonable price. Around 2k for something with scratches and dents but decent slide. Willing to pay more for equipment in really good condition. Silver plate a huge plus. Not scared of something that needs repair.
Also would consider any other TIS Bass Trombone with independent valves. Silver plate a huge plus.

So, I have an extra Kanstul 1662 (dependent) that I'd sell for ~$2250 + actual shipping costs & any potential PayPal fees.
It has very few dings, but it needs a good chem/ultrasonic cleaning and slide alignment. It has lacquer wear on the J-bend at the neck contact area (covered by a wrap currently). The bell section resonates great!
I have only used it with one of my 60H slides & I have never even tried the original slide, because it has needed re-alignment & cleaning since I got it (not too long ago).
The horn is currently set up with the valve levers positioned for a Haynor grip, which is cool but doesn't fit my hand quite right (my hand bumps the second valve lever, partially activating it on occasion). I think it would be a simple enough job to install standard levers, which I had planned to do when I get the horn cleaned and slide aligned.
I'd include "the tank" case for only an extra $250, if you want it.
Let me know if you want to take it over - the horn has got great potential, but I've got a few projects going that could use more funding... If you commit to buy it (maybe a deposit?), I'd consider having the necessary cleaning and slide work (& possibly the linkages) done for you before shipping it out - although, then I might not want to sell it, haha!
Like I said, the bell section resonates really well and it has a nice, full & chocolatey tone... Nothing quite like the resonance and instantaneous response of a good TIS bass!

I had to think about that one for a little bit. I decided I'm pretty firm on looking for an independent 1662i Bass. I can make a plug in valve for my 70H for around 1k and have considered that, but I'd really like to try something that had its purpose in mind before its production.
