**SOLD**
A great-playing example of a 6H from this era. It was originally a project horn for me (I had a Williams bell mounted to the chassis), but returned everything it to its original configuration). I also find that every horn that I’ve had a bell swap on at J. Landress Brass in NYC, they always come back playing way better than the original assembly, de-stressed in the bracing, tension eliminated! Slide is fast and smooth despite having a few spots of “Conn wear” on the inner slide tubes (tried to capture in photos). All spots are smooth to the touch though, so slide runs at ~8.5/10 dry, even better w/ light trombotine+water. No dents or dings, some lacquer wear at contact points, bell section is completely unlacquered. Originally paid much more for this! Comes in an old streamlined Conn case (one clasp broken). A steal at $700 plus actual shipping cost to anywhere in the Continental US.

Thanks for looking,

Hey Massimo,
I actually have one of those Courtois horns that Weston Sprott put together, it’s really good. Anyhow, I’m all set re: gear, so just looking to unload at this time. Thanks so much for your interest. <EMOJI seq="1f64f-1f3fe" tseq="1f64f-1f3fe">🙏🏾</EMOJI>

I’m surprised this horn hasn’t sold already. Great vintage. If I wasn’t set on my two 6Hs I’d buy this.

Thanks gregwaits. I might end up keeping this, paid a lot more for it than my listing price here. I know 6Hs vary greatly from one to another, so if it helps everyone:
In terms of estimating the response, bell is on the thicker/heavier end of the 6H spectrum. Lots of warm center+rings like crazy from being re-mounted. Goes a touch in the direction of a “NY Bach-type” response. Partials closer together than on most 6Hs I have played (which I love). The lacquer that I had removed from the flare was original, so no buffing, evidenced by the engraving. I thought about removing the sleeves/making the slide lightweight, but I’m not sure if the slide will be able to properly push/resonate that sturdy bell flare if I do it. I might attach a link to a clip of me playing it.

For me light slides and 6H bells don't work. My 5H slide sounded like crap with the 3 different 6H bells i had. Oddly enough, each 6H slide sounded like crap on bells they weren't originally paired with. For me it's light slides with heavy bell sections.
