FS: Amati ASL 601 Alto Trombone **SOLD**

Hey all, selling this for a friend. For sale is an Amati ASL 601 alto trombone purchased new in 2001. 6 1/2 inch bell, .453 bore with yellow-brass bell and handslide. Aside from a few wear areas of lacquer wear along the slide and three tiny bell pings, this alto is in great condition. Slide action is great and the instrument was given a full cleaning. These Amati's are seen as a clone of the Bach 39. Photos in the Dropbox link below.
This instrument takes me back to the old days of the Woodwind & Brasswind on State Line Road in South Bend, IN. When you were needing an alto for an affordable price, this was the go-to instrument and Woodwind & Brasswind had plenty to play-test. Of course you play-tested a sterling silver Glassl while you were there but didn't have the scratch to purchase one. Does it play as well as a Bach 39? Of course not. But it plays very well when you need an alto in an orchestral setting or church gig. It has a nice sweet sound and not too broad. It does not sound like a small tenor trombone. If you want that sound, get a Courtois.
