In a [url=https://trombonechat.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=27084&p=181043#p181043]recent thread on intonation I mentioned a product that helped me with intonation. That product was a CD and book called the Intonation Repair Tool created by Mr. [url=https://thomaskociela.com/]Thomas Kociela. Unfortunately, his product is no longer available for sale.

In corresponding with Mr. Kociela, he made a very kind and generous offer. He now makes his product available for free download. All he asks is that we credit him with his product.

From our correspondence:
Andy,

Thank you for reaching out and for your kind words about the IRT. I am so happy to hear about how helpful it has been for you!

Unfortunately I stopped selling the IRT around 2016 for a variety of reasons. I still receive requests for the product and so I now freely share it with anyone who asks.

Here is a Google Drive link to the Intonation Repair Tool, which includes the practice tracks and the text. Feel free to share it with whomever you like, I only ask for credit when you do so.

In fairness to Mr. Kociela for his generosity, I have chosen not to post the google drive link publicly. If you're interested in downloading a copy for yourself, please contact me through the forum and I will share with you both the download link and Mr. Kociela's email address where you can send him your thanks.

Perhaps this will help some as it helped me.

Here is a link to Jay Friedman's blog post about the IRT. (Mr. Kociela was a student of Maestro Friedman.)

I believe I have emailed and messaged all of those who have requested. There were a number of requests, so please let me know if you haven't received the link info.

[color=#FF0000]Edit: Feel free to keep requesting. I'll continue to send the details to those who ask.

Andy, "Intonation repair tool" is a promising title.

Thank you for sending the link.

I have been searching for this for months ever since a friend played it for me. Could I get a link? I couldn’t figure out how to send a private message or email through the forum.

This is confusing. Is the booklet... that credits him for his product... not included in this download?

If it's not included, I don't think the CD should be distributed as the "Intonation Repair Tool" since the CD will be of only slight use without the instruction and discussion in the booklet.

The information the good Maestro made available includes the full booklet and a quick start guide. It really is a most generous offering.

So the product already includes the credit... what more is needed to make this more generally available?

This product will be useful to many others beyond trombone players and yet the only way to obtain it is to somehow find out that there is an email address you must ask at.

What is preventing putting this package on Archive.org, for example?

Or putting it on an e-publishing site where he can collect $5 per download?

I'm just doing as the good Maestro asked.

Point people to the download point *he* has setup -- and credit him.

You're welcome to reach out to him and arrange distribution in another fashion.

Ya know... I tried that!

Some years ago, after having been recommending this thing to people I noticed that it wasn't for sale anymore. Gone!

I looked around and discerned an email address for one of the names in the booklet and sent off an inquiry about what it might cost to buy out the rights.

Since they had given up selling it... why not? Maybe they would consider parting with it and let someone else try?

Maybe they weren't interested, maybe the email address wasn't good... but I never heard back.

You need 3 approved posts to be able to post Personal Messages. We have a couple of introduction threads you can add to, or just post questions.

Hi Andy, would love if I could have access to this tool as well! Members of my trombone studio are really interested in IRT but I can't seem to be able to find it anywhere except here. Thanks in advance :)

Thank you for looking into this. I’ll send you a DM for the Google drive link. (New user here, so lacking in some forum privileges)

Hello, I used this tool with my professor during my time as an undergraduate performance major 3 years ago. I have since established a small studio of my own and would love to use the Intonation Repair Tool with my new students. If you could send me the Google Drive link it would be greatly appreciated. :)
