In excellent shape. Shank is mostly raw brass in color, but is round on the end, no damage. Email for pics. Asking $350 plus shipping. CONUS only. Thanks!

There must be a real cult following for these pieces. :???:
Are they all similar, or are they subject to typical Bach mouthpiece variation? :idk:
How do the new Symington pieces compare?

I have no idea. I just know I bought it on a whim, it does play very well, sounds nice. But, for me, it’s too small. Haven’t tried the Symington pieces.

1.5G from that period are really rare, and still a commonly used size today so they tend to fetch relatively high prices.

What are the main differences between a "Mt Vernon" 1½G and 1½G mouthpieces from other Bach eras ("CORP." etc.)?
Are these differences consistent? What changed? Were the changes intentional or accidental?
What about "copy cat" pieces such as Faxx 1½G? Symington 1½G?

This is a bit of a can of worms but there is a lengthy discussion followed by a follow up discussion from a few years ago: https://trombonechat.com/viewtopic.php?t=11314.
Are only some of the MV 1.5s magical?
Just the ones with Vincent's fairy dust sprinkled on them?

I think the Symington mouthpieces compare pretty well. I'm using the 1.5 prototype at the moment and intend to do so though our summer repertoire. It's a CNC copy of one of my MV Bach pieces with my design of rim added. The NY and MV Bach pieces were hand made and varied a lot...I've never played two the same, so finding the one for you can be a very expensive business but a good one is very good indeed.

Thanks Chris. I'll spare the expense. I'm not a big fan of Bach rims anyway. And my 1969 Conn 71H takes a different shank (Browne & Sharp / "Remington" taper). I get along quite well with a Connstellation 3B that I obtained from a well-known trombonist who no longer played an old Conn. :)
