This is a lightly used black nylon Marcus Bona double tenor trombone case. That said, I bought it because it was pitched to me as a case that could also carry my orchestral tenor and my alto trombone. This was a bit of a stretch from its original intention but that is the only combination for which I used this case (see pics). With a well-placed towel in the slide compartment to secure the shorter alto slide, a homemade Doug Yeo-inspired bell cone for travel (which I can include), and a little rearranging of the velcro pads that come with the case, my alto fit super snug with zero chance of shifting around. I traveled with this case in that configuration to several auditions across the country. AND for me this case has always fit in the overhead compartment on every airplane I’ve flown with it. I was doubtful at first but it even fit the bins in a CRJ-900 regional jet.
There’s a few minor scuffs (see pics) and while this case is in used condition it is in very good condition and still very solid. All the velcro works like new and the zippers are bullet proof. The padding is just as soft as the day I bought it and every bit as secure. The Marcus Bona quality is well known. Comes with backpack straps though you can get a shoulder strap for it as well. Also comes with a 2-piece mouthpiece pouch. I’ve transitioned to mostly playing bass trombone these days so this case doesn’t get any use from me anymore. Brand new it will cost you $815. I’m selling it for $550 + shipping firm. That’s the same price as a new single tenor case from Marcus Bona.
