I’m looking for stand options that allow a practice mute to stay in the bell when I set my horn down. Besides the Hercules, are there other options?

I’m looking for a non in-the-bell stand. All those mentioned in the thread were in-bell.

The Hercules is all I’ve ever seen. I use it . I like it. I only use it for a tenor. No bass.

Maybe set it down on a table on the three points, receiver, tuning slide, bell rim.

Those bell-free stands are not as stable as the conventional type, and the bigger the horn the less stable they are. Not recommended for onstage use, esp if space is tight. Also not a good idea for bass trb, especially a big heavy 2 valve.
Leaving a mute in could mess with weight distribution for even less stability. My Hercules is just OK, not great, and its most important feature is that my bell section is freed up to dry out after playing.

I'm looking for exactly that, but have found nothing. Now I'm wondering if I can modify a guitar stand to suit the purpose...

I use the Hercules, which is unstable for valve horns. You could use wall hooks, which I use for slides only.
