Since the bell is so old do you know what the 1 represents? Is it the taper or construction (or something else)? Also do you know they’ll weight of the bell?

It means 2 piece flare, soldered rim doesn't it? Weight would be standard Shires; not light or heavy, I think.

1 is the original bell design. 2 piece flare. The weight wasn’t specified on these but they are significantly heavier than M (medium) bells.

A Shires “regular” weight is heavier than most manufacturers since heavy bells were in vogue in the 90s. Their “medium” weight is denoted by an “M” such as 1RM and would be the typical in between size. They also have a HW that is heavier than that and an XLW that is lighter than the lightweight
