Hello everyone,
Up for sale today is a gorgeous Thein Universal I bought second hand about a month ago. It was originally purchased about 3 years ago from Houghton Horns from its previous owner and has been kept in excellent condition although there are some signs of aging I tried to photograph. This horn is very very fun to play. The valve notes speak very easily and the articulations are also second to none. They speak much more clearly and crisply than my Shires. The horn comes with one pressfit leadpipe the 1.5L and a Marcus Bonna case that’s also in excellent condition.
Price is $4800 OBO + shipping. CONUS ONLY. Willing to accept partial trades on certain things. Send me a message.
Here are some it’s features.
Key: Bb/F Valve: Hagmann©
Bell-ø: 215 mm / 8-1/2”
Bell rim: french
Material: yellow brass, gold brass
Wall thickness: 0.45 mm / 0.018”
Tuning slide: yellow brass with “Universal I”-Balancer Slide: nickel silver slide with “Super Sound”-water key
Bore: 13.9 mm / 0.547”
Lead pipe: changeable

What would you say is the difference between the universal I and II models? Have you had a chance to play them both?

Honestly couldn’t tell you the differences. This horn plays unlike most other horns in a good way. Great resonance.
