have a Selmer K Modified with a hairline crack in its slide crook.
I expect the chance of locating a Selmer crook is unlikely. The bore is .485, so I’m thinking one from a King 2B or Tempo would work.
Anybody have one they’d sell?
I do have one from a Conn 16H Director, but it is a .500 bore horn. Not sure that would work.

I would think twice about using a 2B crook. It's the same crook as a 3B. Wish I was home, I could check my allied catalog for parts. I will be home next week though, an dc could help you then.
How bad is the crack. It might be able to be patched.

The crack is on the top side and it really isn’t noticeable….until you put soap on it and check compression.
Thanks

Is the selmer .485 exactly? So makers the slide crook is slightly larger than the bore.

From what I determine online, it is .485

MK drawing has a variety of crooks available. I suggest looking into their options to see if one would work. Typically MK stuff is very high quality.
Looks like they have an Ambassador crook:

Which should work. Has an ID of .506 which is probably pretty close, normally the ID of the crook is larger than that of the ID of the inner slide bore. (Or maybe more accurately, similarish to the outer bore diameter? Tech would have better explanation). In any case, the OD is important too because the ferrules need to fit so whoever is doing the work you'd probably want to have measure the OD to see if they need new ferrules or can re-use existing ones.

Remember, there is more to it than just having the right bore size. You can solder on a crook with the right bore size crook, and it may not play very well. You might just me better putting a patch on it.

Some years ago, I did a slide bow switch on a Selmer Paris 23 Special, very similar to the K modified. I used a bow from a B&H/Besson trombone with a 0.487in bore. worked fine.
I will check to see if I have one in the spare bits box.
Cheers
