Bought this a few years ago from Ilan Morgentern and replaced the Edwards mounts with Bach to fit my 50B2O.

Since switching to a Butler CF bell on that horn I have no need for the 1179 CF. It's in very good shape.

22 gauge, soldered bell rim, heat treated, 9 1/2" diameter.

This is a bell flare only, no mounting hardware. I dropped the price to $575 including shipping CONUS. The nice thing about no hardware is you can have it mounted on any bass you want with the appropriate parts. Who knows? You might be able to "resurrect" or repurpose a horn with a great bell like this!

Thanks!

Hi Matt, how does that compare to a Bach 50 bell?

To my ears it projects better and has more clarity in the upper register, more core in the valve and pedal registers. This comparison is with all the Bach bells I've played in the past, which is not easy because Bach bells can be inconsistent. So I'm comparing with the mean average of most 50 bells made of yellow brass. Even though Ilan Morgentstern probably used this bell for orchestra work, I needed it at the time for big band stuff and my Minick gold brass bell was too warm. This bell could be heard "out front" much easier.
