Hand-hammered bell (according to the Holton brochure), heavy-gauge yellow brass bell, standard f attachment wrap (0.562"+) with quiet short-throw string linkage, no tuning slide brace, 0.525"-bore slide.

With the hand-hammered bell it sounds like a professional model, though without the nickel silver trim it doesn't quite look like one. Easily mistaken for a student horn ("studentized"; see below) but for the hand-hammered bell. Marketed to students because professionals wouldn't be seen with it.

Great sound, including the f attachment, using a Schilke 51.

The 602F was a "studentized" version of a 100 series horn (165?). That doesn't detract from its being a nice sounding instrument.

Is this the one that was on brass exchange recently?
