Howdy,
I've got a stealth Edwards for sale. It comprises of .500 slide in nickel with brass crook, nickel neckpipe, rose tuning slide, and 9192CF bell in yellow brass.
Yup, it's ugly. I'm not sure what happened here, but the bell and Edwards case it were in had a bit of a chemical fight, ending up with the lacquer on the "bottom" of the bell being discolored, as well as some other spots. The other side of the bell is... fine! The deal is that you can have it as is, or I can strip the lacquer and polish the raw brass myself.
The horn is actually in great shape- I had a very small crease rolled out by John Sandhagen, and that's it. No real dings, slide is great though could use a chem clean, I think.
The horn plays fantastic. I am used to my vintage stuff- I have 3Bs and a really magic LT16M. I'm quite happy with them. But wow, modern horns are just... easy to play. If I were smarter it would just be my small horn from now on, especially if I could get an F attachment on it. Ranges are even, attacks are easy, it's flexible, it can play loud, soft, bright, sustained (if you feed a note air, it will just let you fill out the sound, much like larger Edwards).
I'll sell it two ways. $1600 gets you the horn as is- ugly lacquer, no chem clean. $1800 gets you a shiny, clean instrument. Add shipping. No case... that went straight to the case graveyard.
