What makes you think it's a Marston valve? Those were only used, I believe, on a subset of Mt Vernon horns. This one looks identical to other Corporation Bach valve sections I've seen/played.

It’s definitely a Marston. It’s larger than a standard rotary valve offered by Bach.
These valves weren’t only used on Mt. Vernon trombones. They showed up on Corporation horns as well.

I’m not familiar with Marston valves. How do they differ from the standard Bach 36 valve?

Bernie Marston was a 3rd party valve supplier for Bach for some time (see his account of his work at[url]http://rouses.net/trumpet/OLDS_VALVES.html). His valves were reputed to be a bit bigger/more open than Bach's in-house rotors.
FWIW my experience has been that the standard rotor on a 36B is plenty open enough and plays quite well. It only feels too stuffy when they use the same part on the larger 42B. I bet this horn plays great, and it looks much prettier than the utility-grade Corporation 36B I used to have.

There was a discussion on this subject awhile back.

There are a couple unique things that help identify a Marston/Bach valve. In addition to being slightly larger than the "normal" Bach 36/42 valves, the ones I have seen have a trim line near the outside edge of the rotor cap. The screws on the cork plate are closer together and the cork plates are a different shape and size.
The horn for sale looks to have a nice finish. Possibly it could have been rebuilt with a Marston valve that a tech had sitting around and then completed with a buff and lacquer job? Nonetheless, it looks like a nice horn!
